Summary
We collect the minimum data needed to run Learn, Speak, Repeat! — account details you give us, content you upload for study, and telemetry about how the product is used. We don't sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details: name and email from Google sign-in, interface language, and consent choices.
- Learning content: podcast episodes, transcripts, lessons, and image-vocab progress you create or import.
- Voice data: short audio clips you record for pronunciation scoring and tutor conversations.
- Billing data: subscription status and billing cycle. Card details are handled by our payment processor — we never see them.
- Technical data: usage events, device and browser info, and error logs to keep the service working.
How we use it
- Providing the service — running lessons, scoring pronunciation, delivering tutor responses.
- Keeping your account secure and preventing abuse.
- Improving the product — debugging, measuring feature use, and deciding what to build next.
- Sending transactional email you've asked for (receipts, account alerts). Marketing emails only if you opted in.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of trusted processors to run the service. Each receives only the data they need:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth).
- Polar Software Inc. — payments and subscription management, as merchant of record.
- Cloudflare — hosting, edge delivery, and storage for audio and transcripts.
- Speech and language model vendors — transcription, pronunciation scoring, and tutor responses.
We don't sell or rent your personal data to advertisers.
Retention
We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings used for pronunciation scoring are retained briefly and then removed. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to comply with law (for example, tax and billing records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email support@learnspeakrepeat.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and understand product use. A cookie consent surface for non-essential cookies will follow in a future update.
International transfers
Our processors may store data outside your country. Where required, we rely on standard contractual safeguards to protect your data.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or under the equivalent age in your country). Don't create an account if you're under that age.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in the product before they take effect.
